We made our own Easter eggs this year!
Can you guys believe it's Easter? The time just flew by this year! In the blink of an eye, and it's already the end of March. In honour of the special occasion, we actually hosted an Easter egg hunt and giveaway on Instagram, using our very own homemade Easter eggs. Read on if you want to see how we decorated our Easter eggs! Here's what you'll need:
Materials:
- Eggs (we used hard-boiled ones so they'd have more weight and stability)
- Non-toxic paint (especially if you plan on eating the eggs afterwards!)
- Paintbrushes
- Mixing tray or palette
- Sharpies
The first thing we did was mix up some pastel colours using our palette. To get pastel purple, we mixed red + blue + white, and pastel pink is just red + white. We painted the eggs a solid colour, and put them aside to dry.
After they've dried completely, it's time for the fun part: decorate the eggs using your Sharpie markers. We drew on some fun polka dot, chevron, and heart shaped patterns, but you can draw anything you'd like!
That's it! Now all you have to do is hide them, and you've got yourself a fun, festive, homemade Easter egg hunt! We loved how adorable the pastel colours and minimal patterns looked.
How was your Easter? Did you make your own Easter eggs? Let us know! Until next time, happy crafting, and have an awesome Easter, everyone!
