Valentine's Day DIY Tote
Valentine's Day is right around the corner, guys! We made a simple DIY with one of our plain black totes, and thought we'd share the love with all of you! Here's what you'll need to get started:
Materials:
- Black tote (or any fabric you'd want to decorate)
- Fabric paint (we used white and pink, so it will stand out against the black)
- Ruler
- Scissors
- Pen
- Paper
- Cotton bud
- Something round to use as a template (we used a lid from a bowl)
The first thing you'll need to do is cut out a heart template. Fold the paper in half, and use the lid (or anything round that's handy) to draw out a semi-circle, with one side of the semi-circle touching the folded edge. After that, using the ruler, draw a diagonal line all the way to the folded edge of the paper. Cut this half-heart out, unfold it, and boom! You have yourself a perfect heart shape!
Next, place the heart onto the tote bag. We placed it right in the middle. You can use blue tack or double sided tape to secure it in place. Using the cotton buds, we dotted a design around the heart, using it as a reverse stencil.
And that's it! You have yourself a sweet Valentine's Day tote, perfect for a gift or a casual day on the town. Have a look at our finished DIY:
We are definitely head over heels for this sweet and simple DIY. Would you make something similar for Valentine's? Let us know! Until next time, happy crafting, everyone!
