Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, and whether you’re single or attached, status “married” or “it’s complicated”, you should find a way to make the most out of what men would like to call “Hallmark’s big marketing scam to rip sappy fools off”. But of couse, we women know that’s not true. Heck, after an entire year of being treated like walking meat, we sure as hell deserve some flowers and chocolates as a token of appreciation!
Anyway, to get your romantic bones in a tickle, here are some Valentine’s Day inspirations for the taking.
Kate Spade has released a collection of Valentine’s Day e-cards designed by an amazing array of print designers, such as Julia Rothman, Dana Lucas, and Dallas Shaw. Just click to send one, and your little love note is ready and done!
Twig & Thistle created a downloadable brownie bag for the sweet at heart. Such a treat, and we love the straws used in the images! You can pick up basic brown bags at Artfriend (not sure if they still carry, though), along the shops of Jalan Kenanga, or any cake supply shops, and just print the design onto them. In fact, the next time you buy a cookie from any bakery or cake boutiques, ask them if you could purchase a few extra brown bags from them to save yourself the hassle.
The uber creative Rachel of Heart of Light has so many Valentine’s DIY projects that we had to at least try to narrow it down to one. Sadly we had still ended up with at least two, coz it’s just that hard. We adore the simple heart-shaped garlands she decorated her apartments with, and we loveeee the sewn cards she made for her family. Such a sweet gesture to bring to your loved ones!
Once you’re done with your sewn cards, you’ll need an envelope to put them into. And we’ve found the perfect solution with Shabby Chic’s felt envelopes. You can pick up felt sheets at ArtFriend or Kamdar. The blog also has downloadable notes for the lazier lot of you to print.
We can go on for days with the DIY Valentine’s Day ideas we’ve collected, but let’s save some for suspense! These lovelies are enough to get your heart pumping to start a-Valentine-ing!
