After such a long holiday (which, btw, I spent bedridden with the likes of Mr.Flu), it’s hard to get back to designing. Alas, Monday has arrived and I can’t blame my dog for eating my creativity away and illustrating the obvious need for yet another break. Instead, I’ll make do with what I have to get me over this designer’s block; coffee, Mraz, and the above wisdomatic (yes I know there’s no such word but my creative juices are obviously flowing) words by Ed Hall to convey a better working motion.
As a dreamer, sometimes reality can cause your world to come crashing down. Responsibilities get in the way, structured mindsets prevent you from growing, all the excuses in the universe that would help you crawl back into your comfort zone and save you from potential failure. As an artist, sometimes you starve. As a conversationalist, sometimes nobody listens. But if you don’t struggle, you don’t fall. And if you don’t fall, you won’t know how good it feels to climb back up and further ahead. After all, lovers are the most passionate of fighters (don’t steal my quote arh, I know it’s a good one ;p).
Four videos that really got my right brain all pumped up and ready to work. Hope they inspire your dreams of building your own world
Yeah, my many dogs weren’t very impressed by that last post about cat scans. Thus, they’ve demanded I blogged about something much more worthy of appreciation; hipster dogs.
Okay, so now that you guys, be it cat skanks or dog lovers, have gotten your daily cuteness fix, get back to work. I have some indie crap to attend to.
If you’ve grouchily pulled an Office Space with a scanner, we suggest you indulge in some cat scans instead of smashing it to death. Trust me, this is much more therapeutic than playing wrecking ball.
A character a day keeps the blues away. A-Face-A-Day is a compilation of illustrations by an Austrian artist and a truly lovely way to remember the faces and spaces that flood a path. Happy Monday, guys!
Hello Monday. You’ve arrived rather unexpectedly. Your presence is not appreciated in my current state of weekend mind. You will, however, play nice today. Especially since we’ve got yet another new batch of bags in this week that we’re trying to rush out to our dear shoppers. So yes, play nice… and move along smoothly. In the meantime, download one of Kind Over Matter’s positive posters and stick it somewhere along the way to your office where it’ll matter the most, coz as I always say, if today isn’t your day, at least take the time to make it someone else’s
The best part about Mondays at work is the wait to arrive home and into the arms of loved walls. How befitting are these lovely illustrations by Lisa Chow of Apt. 3305, just makes the Monday that much sweeter by comparison of a dowdy day to go by. Home is where the heart is
It’s another Monday appearing diligently to ruin your perfectly slow weekend, and what better way to express yourself than with Parliament of Owls’ Cranky Pressman coasters?
Each character is as adorable as their names and individual profiles portray them to be, but we sure are feeling an extra serving of Mr. Cranky… aren’t you? Happy Monday Blues!!!
