#thatawkwardmoment when everybody stares at your in great expectance of a joke. Don’t fret, because Kate Spade now has the answer to this age-old dilemma imprinted onto a gold-plated bangle fit for your fashionable liking; the Pop Stick Bangle. Sadly, they only have two designs at the moment, but hey, all it takes is just one good joke to make an impressive punch(line)!

Ahhh, if only our Pantone charts could be this yummy. Pantone tarts by Emilie de Griottes for Fricote Magazine. See more on Designboom.

These amazing photos are the amazing results of art/design collective NAM for the Harbour City Chocolate Trail, a charity project for the Hong Kong Blood Cancer Foundation. The series uses their signature method of suspending objects and people with strings and cables to create weightless environments. I’m not sure about you, but I’ve been feeling a tad disturbed by how mainstream Pinterest has gotten. Not that I don’t pin the mainstream, but each time I log in, I see adverts for diet plans, posters on vulgarity, and just the oddest things that can’t even be pronounced as kitschy. With that said, I’m very thankful for Life Scoop’s list of 21 Great Pinterest Boards for Art and Design Lovers.

Well filtered, well chosen, well and ripe for the pinning; if you’re sick of quantity over quality, check out the list at Life Scoop for some quality curating.

We are in the midst of refurnishing our mini office, and after seeing Refinery29′s work pad featured on Design*Sponge, I’m so tempted to persuade Jacqie into letting us draw on walls and egg crate the call room… not that we even have a call room, but whatever. We’ll let logistics handle that unaware area in this dream space of mine.

So our lovely supplier thought it would be hilarious to give us tokens of his adoration for himself in the form of tees with his photo printed onto them. Needless to say, I will never wear mine, especially not with a growing belly of a baby. Hence, I decided to torment my beloved toddler with it by changing it into a baby tee.

I always love the box shape for tees, and I basically cropped the original tee into half, and got rid the sleeves. Pretty easy, I barely used a ruler. Don’t mind the fabric egg, my daughter – for some odd reason – really wanted to put it onto the tee. I even removed it a few times, but she kept placing it back on -_-”

Twenty minutes later, my bub has a new fangirl top. I made tabs at the sleeves just for a little difference in design. She paraded around with it for a family outing, and boy did she get a lot of attention… not because I did a great job sewing it up, but because of our supplier’s narcissistic picture ;p

My dear friend and partner in movie-crime, Grace Lai, has a job that many would envy – editor of MillionaireAsia magazine. She writes as both her job and passion, and dines with the fulfillment of many adventures traveled. Due to her fast-paced lifestyle (she’s rarely ever around for a slice of sinful cake!), I was intrigued to peek into her handbag. And let’s just say, the bottomless trunk I expected was far from sight – this girl sure travels light!

1)    What are the most essential things in your bag you can’t leave home without?

They would be my purse and Vaseline. If you’re wondering, I never put my phone in my bag, it’s always in my hands (unless in a meeting).

1)    Describe your daily routine in your busy work schedule.

Wake up mid-day, check and reply all emails, go through Twitter. Go for meetings (if scheduled), attend event launches or press conferences, do interviews (if scheduled) get back to my emails, draft proposals, write. Go for events in the evenings on certain nights. Surf for interesting feature stories at night while watching a movie or two with my partner. Meals are taken in between, as and when :)

1)    If you could invent a bag that would make traveling light that much more convenient, what would it be?

I’d like a sturdy (for example, I find Longchamp a little ‘floppy’), chic and versatile (colour-wise, to match outfits) bag. Compartments in the bag is a must, at least one, I hate digging through my bag when trying to get a namecard for someone or a key to quickly open the door.

1)    Do you have a special bag, one that you won’t throw away even when it’s torn and tattered and begging for a much-respected burial?

I love my bags from Topshop. Even though it’s just a high street brand, I’ve always managed to buy a bag from Topshop (the higher end ones), they’re of such good quality, always in style and so great to just pick-up and go.

Pictures are all courtesy of Grace’s personal albums, compiled lovingly from her many travels around South East Asia. You can follow her lavish lifestyle on Twitter, or give her a holler on Facebook.

Though they are way out of my budget (am eating Maggi mee for dinner as I type this), I am devastated that every single piece coveted from Sit’s Collection 9 (2010) is sold. His description of the collection is equally as enthralling:

In the eastern parts of the world 9 is a lucky number. To SIT it means new found luck. It was a strange encounter with a goldfish in Hong Kong that made him feel lucky again. Lost in the dark realms of this city his heart bleeding from a broken relationship and his vision blurred by cheap Chinese whisky SIT stumbled across a goldfish with enormous eyes in a shop window. Hypnotized by this eerie image he saw this goldfish transform into a 9 and heard a deep voice whispering ‘follow number 9 and luck will come your way again’. In the wake of this story his wallet was gone of course but knew he had struck gold. A better tomorrow was on its way.

Those familiar with SIT know this story could only happen to a joyful and free spirit like him. He masterminded 9 exclusive works paying hommage to his new lucky charm, the goldfish. Where black has turned into gold and life has a better tomorrow.
