Mondays are like a breakup; you fall in love with the weekend, and within a few short hours, you’ve lost the weekend and in comes Monday. Oh, dreaded Monday. That is why we’d consider using Melanie Chernock’s adorable Love Hurts kit to ease our heartbroken souls from the loss of yet another wonderful weekend. Equipped with all the essentials of getting over a breakup, this little kit includes a compilation of heart-wrenching songs that lead from anguish to an eventual epiphany, a candle for that mood burning sensation, a bar of dark chocolate so that you can indulge without gaining too much weight, and some tissues and vodka among other items.

Endearingly intuitive, Melanie makes love hurt soooo good!

Recently, I threw a farewell party for a friend who was leaving to pursue a career in Singapore. She wanted something to remind everyone of her, and because we had very little time to make something from scratch, we came up with simple customizable gifts to give out at her party: forget-me-knot journals.

We found these great faux leather journals in Daiso which came with long cloth closures to bound together. We drew hearts on each cover, and cut them out. Then we painted the first page of the journal with pink acrylic, and just glued the cover to the first page once the acrylic dried. She wrote a simple message onto each heart for every friend, and that’s it! Super fast to make, super sweet to receive, this forget-me-knot journal is sure to remind that loved one of your love!

Happy DIY Wednesday, guys!

It’s Monday, and Jacqie’s in Japan spreading the Gin & Jacqie love around! Which brings us to this Monday’s perk-me-up about a Japanese boy and his French bulldog. Tokyo-based mother, Aya Sakai, has been posting up awwwwweeee-some pictures on Instagram of everyday bonding sessions between her boy and his best friend, and seriously, it doesn’t get any cuter than this. If you’re having a gloomy start to your Monday, we can assure you that your day – and week – will turn around after following Aya Sakai and her snippets into this amazingly adorable friendship. And if you’d like a peek into Jacqie’s journey around Japan, don’t forget to also follow US on Instagram!

Have a great week ahead, folks!

shawls

We’ve always appreciated successful rebrandings, and Vova Lifanov truly inspires with this rebranding of a shawl museum that brings an otherwise traditional overview of a product into the chic and modernity of today’s market.

GIZMODO – The Tiny Transforming Apartment That Packs Eight Rooms into 350 Square Feet from Gizmodo on Vimeo.

It’s been awhile since we posted a Fridays in Love small home video, and this one is one you wouldn’t want to miss. Ultra chic in understated decor, yet stylishly applicable in compact furnishings, this tiny apartment has managed to fit more than we can in our office space! Amazing what the mind can think of when neatly organized ;p

For those who have never visited our office, we actually have a little kitchen area where we all sip tea and nibble on cakes. However, we’re still in the process of decorating the space, and we really want to bring some joy into the white of the room. So this Friday’s picks are all about the childish fun that a kitchen AND a big kid could enjoy ^_^

So we’re all anticipating Prabal Gurung’s massive 80-piece collection  for Target with bated breaths, and how could we not? With videos popping up here and there, and interviews that leave us wanting more, this collection is definitely one made from love, for love. Scatters of emotions, from first dates, to first kisses, to everything beautiful that makes love, love… that’s what you can expect from Prabal Gurung’s collaboration with Target. And that is why we’ve fallen in love at first sight.

We are crazy in love with the revamping of this condo kitchen over at Addicted2Decorating, from bare to being the most cozy corner of warm colors and DIY striped throw pillows! The rustic feel of wood meeting the paisley of the blinds converges together to form such a definition to the breakfast nook that is as welcoming as it is bright. And that lime green chandelier!!!

Here’s our take on shabby chic:

As designers, we’ve all been through our fair share of amusingly absurd comments from clients. The folks over at Sharpsuit.net decided to forge a collaboration with Ireland’s creative community to “release a lot of pent up anger and sadness through the medium of the A3 poster, all in aid of Temple Street Children’s Hospital.” Based on horrible and impossible feedbacks and requests from clients, the posters were relatable to most of us in the design field, and brought a good laugh to all of us. Think Clients From Hell, but with a graphic update.

The project has received such overwhelming response that Sharpsuit has stopped orders as of now. We’ll be looking out for their next batch of prints, because we really do need to hang up some understanding posters along the corridors of our walls ;p
