Okay guys, get ready to nab yourselves some Gin & Jacqie ang paos filled with cash vouchers ‘coz the contest officially begins today! The steps are simple:
3. Print screen the page that you spotted the emblem in
OR
tell us exactly where you spotted it (but we’ll prioritize those who print screen and send us the image instead so as to avoid cheaters)
4. Email us the image at info@ginjacqie.com
Each day from today ’til Sunday, the emblem will move to different places within the website. The FIRST FOUR people to email us the hidden emblem spots each days will receive a cash voucher ang pao from us. So move fast, ‘coz we’ve already gotten quite a few emails… Sadly, they’re all guessing the emblem is ON the treasure hunt banner itself… We’d like to save you the trouble by saying no, it isn’t. It’s not THAT easy, people ;p
Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, and we’ve found some creative ways to make the best of both occasions on a budget. Here are some DIY ideas we think would be perfect for the transition from family to romance. Okay, that sounded wrong… but you get what we mean ^_^
Yokebakery.com featured this heart-shaped ang pao tutorial, and it’s a simple and easy way to put a smile to both CNY recipients and Valentine’s Day receivers. Also check out creator Alberta’s origami bunny tutorial… so adorable!
Ever since Martha Stewart posted up this felt fortune cookie tutorial, people worldwide have been making versions of their own for Valentine’s Day. In fact, our designer Ellie made a boxful for a hen’s night game where kinky questions were hidden in each cookie that the bride-to-be had to answer. You can pick up sheets of felt at ArtFriend in Gardens, Mid Valley or you can buy by the metre at Kamdar. Fortunes can be used for CNY, while love notes can be inserted in for Valentine’s Day. Check out Shannon Eileen’s sweet use of the cookies *here*.
And lastly, of course, a bunny!!! It’s the year of the bunny, and what better gift to give than the gift of adorable cuddliness???! I mean, c’mon… the gift that keeps giving! Surprise kids in the family with a bunny instead of an ang pao, or buy the love of your life a pair for Valentine’s Day. Sure to brighten anyone’s day!
Now that you guys have some different approaches to giving, get to itĀ ‘coz time is running out! Psst… we could do with some bunny lovin’ in the office if you’re feeling generous *winks*.
So we all love ang paos/red packets of yummy money. But visiting friends and family on Chinese New Year shouldn’t always be about the taking and not to giving. Some bring hampers, others bring cartons of mandarin oranges, but if you’re looking for something a little more modern, we’ve found two solutions to your showing up empty handed at another open house this year.
This year, Cuppacakes brings two themes for the picking. Orange Blossom is a vibrant palate of sweet treats, while Red Lantern is all about the rich hues. Each pack comes with 36 petite cupcakes and cost a mere RM90. They can also customize company logos into the mix for a different price.
We came across these cookies on Facebook, and found out that it was from the gorgeous Hannah Lo. Each box has three different bunny shapes in orange caramel flavor: Spring Blossom, Golden Prosperity, and And Pao Bunny. An assortment of six is priced at RM36.88, a dozen for RM69.88, and a family pack of 27 is RM152.88. Sadly, it’s only open to those of you residing within Aussie, so the rest of us will just have to wait for these to hit the online store.
Nah, we kid we kid! Don’t bring out those flaming pitchforks just yet, we’re as much the obedient dog lovers as you guys are! Anyway, we at the office were having a doggone day (hahahaha) due to a dead goldfish… AND a clogged toilet bowl soon after. We were moping around until we saw this little gem of a photography session by Sacha Goldberger. To cheer his depressed grandma up, he made her into the most adorable superhero through amazing shots.
Such a sweet project, such awe-inspiring results. Plus, the story behind it has made us realize one thing… The world ain’t so bad if you looked at it through a dreamer’s eyes. We’re calling in the plumber, and buying him a drink… let’s hope he’s a cutie, too ;p
We’ve revamped our usual Bag Organizer with the Neat Melinda, a compact yet stylishly designed bag extension get that handbag clutter well adjusted to a t. With small compartments for convenient accessibility to all your keys and gadgets, and an easy to handle handle (ahhahaha handle, handle??? get it??) this little candy colored baby makes getting organized look so non-fussed that you’d want one for each of your beloved handbags! – but of course, you only need one. Designmom’s easy DIY monogram mug tutorial calls for a bunch of markers, a few kid-friendly mugs, and the creative hands of your little ones. While this is such a darling project forĀ those of you who have and are at wits end trying to come up with a solution to a day of bonding without the telly, I reckon I’d use this idea as a specialized door gift at parties.
Now, this week’s Twitter Fritter was not found on Twitter. Instead, we stumbled upon this gorgeous blog filled with favorite things unintentionally. And boy are we glad! Mama J is a proud mother of one adorable two year old, and a handy crafter by heart. Scrapbooking fills the little minutes of her days with mementos of here’s and there’s.
Beautifully crafted pages, heartwarming photographs, and just the most idyllic moments in a moment, Mom In The Making is a blog filled with love in all the right places. And we’re gladly smitten.
There’s been a barrage of moms on the go, and one of the easier and cheaper alternative to keeping your baby mama duties accessible is a ring sling carrier. However, after purchasing one for a colleague, we realized that it ain’t as easy as the books said it’d be. Still, we were determined to make it work, even if we had to practice with stuffed toys to prove to our colleague that our purchase was the best gift ever.
So what did we do? We Googled Youtube how-to videos, what else?
Easy, right??? Okay, so even though we’ve practiced with many stuffed toys, we’ve yet to try it out on an actual baby considering our colleague keeps running her child away from us. But we are assured by the video that it’s easy ;p
To purchase a sling of your own, head on over to Jumpsacbaby. They’ve got an awesome array of ring slings made for every fashionista mama.
