If there’s one thing we love, it’s sisterly romance. No, don’t get us wrong, we’re not closet lesbians… We do, however, appreciate the bond between girly friends. And what better way to bond with your girlfriends than over a macaron (yes macarons are the new cupcakes) and matching fashionable headbands? Enters Shentel & Sereni, a little label of headbands made just for the sake of decorating your Gossip Girly ‘tresses.

Started by Sereni Linggi and Shentel Lee, Sereni & Shentel is handmade from Borneo and each design is created for the main purpose of bringing some fun into a girl’s life. From basic bands of Easter Sundays to wedding veils made perfect for that naughty hen’s night, this talented duo is there for you through every ocassion.

For more info, check out www.sereniandshentel.com or “LIKE” them on their Facebook page. XOXO!

The malls are filled with bright decorations as Raya ends its course and Lantern Festival approaches. We took a stroll around the Lower Ground of Mid Valley’s concourse area, and found ourselves immersed in the wonders of colorful plastics and, surprisingly enough, organza. Yup, even lanterns have found their way into fashion, with new materials to spare and battery operated lights to delight.

But of course, Lantern Festival is a treat for the kids. So we figured, why not compile a selection of DIY lantern projects for you and your family to enjoy with? Not only cost efficient, but you’ll be the pride of the parade with just  a simple token of creativity.

First are these dainty soda can lanterns found on Ruffled.com. Made of basic recyclables found on your kitchen shelves, a few of these in a variety of shades would surely brighten up any lawn.

And then there’s a paper lantern project by Bridesmaid.com which features sweet lanterns made of paper bags. A definite eye candy of a home deco for the night of moon and cakes.

Last but definitely not least, if you’d like a DIY lantern that’s safer for the fingers and easily brought into your home as any ordinary day deco, check out this tea light lantern project by Projectwedding.com. Versatile and long-lasting, these little lighted beauties will make a charming collectible in any homey room.

This Wednesday, we’re painting our baby diapers pretty with Dana’s DIY Diaper Cover. We came across her site awhile back, and are loving the easy-to-follow tutorials, from dish covers to adorable frocks. However, we found this one the most practical considering most of our readers (we love you!) are moms or moms-to-be.

All you have to do is download Dana’s pattern pieces *here* (comes in different grading sizes), grab some old remnants lying around the house, and stitch this baby together!

Goooooddd Monday, everyone! Yes, it isn’t such a great Monday considering everyone just survived a really nice and long Raya holiday. But again, we’re here to inform you (in case it slips your mind) that Mondays don’t have to be blue. Today’s perk-me-up involves your iPhone/iPads and some ducking time into the office loo.

This Monday, we introduce you to our top 5 mind numbers!

Doodle Jump – what can we say about this little gem of a time-consumer? It’s a yellow doodle that you can maneuver to jump from platform to platform, all the while avoiding equally endearing enemies of sorts. Found on most Top iPhone games lists, Doodle Jump is a hard one to drop ^_^

Paper Town FriendsRobin Rosenthal created this application entirely out of paper. With kids in mind, she handcrafted all the images/garments and photographed them individually as well as per groups so that the entire project feels more handmade and fun for all ages. We don’t know about you guys, but when everything’s made of paper, we’re immediately drawn in. Download this amazing masterpiece of an application for your kids (or yourselves… we promise not to tell).

Plants vs. Zombies – one of the top grossing iPhone games ever. Perhaps it’s the cutesy images, perhaps it’s our love for plants and hatred for zombies, perhaps tower defense has just never looked this cute. But our work hours spent obsessively pea-podding those rotting zombies can confirm one thing…. IT IS JUST THE BEST GAME EVER!

Slap Happy – We know that sometimes work gets the better of us… or rather, colleagues do. Since everyone’s trying to avoid a possible lawsuit, the best option to slapping that person you’d so love to slap is to download Happy Tree Friends’ SlapHappy app. Throw your iPhone around to watch the poor bunny get bloody or cut his guts out with a saw… your preference thrills him into tears, and you’re bound to feel better soon after. Though this app is relatively new and in dire need of an upgrade, it’s still a great cure for office politics!

Pocket God – Let’s face it, we’ve all wanted to play God sometime or another, ESPECIALLY in the office. Continuing with SlapHappy’s abusive theme, our last game on the list is Pocket God. Torture pgymies in this cute game with torments overload, from lighting bolts to volcanoes to happy dining dinos… their lives are in the flick of your fingertips *demonic laughter*

So there you have it, 5 ways to cure your Monday office blues! Oh, if you’re a Blackberry user… well, we do hope that BBM you guys keep gushing about entertains you well enough, hah! ^_^
